This image was converted to B&W on a separate layer and then the opacity was set to 90% to let in just a tiny amount of the blue color of the sky to give it a tinted look with a little more interest. Almost as if it had been duotoned. I compared the two images with one a true B&W and came to the conclusion that a sky shot such as this benefited from a smidgen of color.
